Happy Monday Everyone!

Here in New York we are having some strange weather.  It had just started getting chilly and fall like and today we are back to warm humid weather.  You never know what to put on when you leave the house in the morning anymore!  Well enough of my complaining, let's get to the real reason I've posted today.

I would like to share a scrapbook page I made.  I created this page for a scrapbook I'm keeping of my adorable nephew.  He is the cutest, sweetest, little boy, just like his Dad, my brother, was at his age.  I think it is so incredible that this little guy is playing soccer.  At his age (just under three) I'm sure there was no way I'd have been doing anything like that.  He's an amazing kid.  Here's my layout.

That smile just melts my heart.  I used my Cricut Explore Air to put this layout together.  I created a shadow for the word soccer and welded three individual soccer balls together to create just the right image for my page. I really enjoyed making this layout and I hope you like it too.  Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm here to share a quick card today.  I made this card using my Cricut Explore Air.   I had originally used the background shape for a scrapbook layout and loved the look of it so I thought I'd try it as a 6x6" card.  I think it came out great and I'm probably going to be making a few more of these to keep on hand.  The sentiment can easily be changed and you'd have a terrific thank you card, birthday card, or even sympathy card.

That's it for today.  I'd love to hear what you think of my card so leave me a comment below.

Good Morning Everyone!

Long time no post!  I know, I know I always say I'm going to post more often then things come up and, well, you know how it goes.  Anyway, I'm here today with two cards I made this weekend for two wonderful friends.  One is a thank you and one is a thinking of you card.  For both I used my Cricut Explore Air and had lots of fun putting them together.

Well that's it for now.  I'm not going to make any promises, but I'll try to post again soon!

Good Morning and a Thank You Card!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Here in New York the weather was just gorgeous today and it finally feels like Spring is here to stay -- it was touch and go for a while there LOL!

Today I'd like to share a thank you card I made for a dear friend who always thinks of others and goes out of her way to take care of those she loves.  She recently traveled on a much needed vacation and was thoughtful enough to bring me back a souvenir from her trip.

Here is the card I made to thank her for thinking of me and for being such a dear friend.

I had so much fun creating this card and used a lot of different elements. I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I hope my friend is too.

Thanks for visiting and if you like what you see, leave a comment below.

Two more cards

Good Morning Everyone!

TGIF!! The weather here in New York is beautiful and I'm looking forward to the weekend.

I'm here today with two more cards.  The first one features some embossing and an Anna Griffin die cut.  The second one was a Make It Now Project that I put together using the Cricut Explore (and naturally I added a few of my own touches!).  I bought the Explore Air around Christmas time - a gift from Santa to me! - and I'm just loving it.  I was on the fence about it for a long time because I have a Gypsy and a Cricut Expression.  As I'm not too computer savvy, I thought I'd never be able to figure how to set it up.  But to my surprise and delight it was so easy even I could do it!  The instructions are great and there are lots and lots of videos on the Cricut site as well as on YouTube if you get stuck.  Anyway it was easy and I'm loving all the things it can do.  Here are my cards

Enjoy the weekend!

Paula

I'm Back!!! Sorry it has been soooooo long!

Hello everyone,

I can't believe it has been over a year since I last posted.  I have been crafting and creating, a little here and there.  Some unfortunate family issues have kept me from spending more time following my passion.  I have a few cards to share today.  I hope you enjoy what you see and I'd love to hear any comments you have.  Thanks for stopping by and I'll try to get back here a little more often.  Have a great weekend!!

Cold Weather Crafting!

Hello Everyone,

It is super cold here in New York today.  I hope you are all warm and cozy wherever you are!  I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day and had a relaxing day off for President's Day.  Since the weather here has been cold and snowy, I spent the long weekend in my craft room!  YAY!!  It was so great to spend a nice block of time in there.  I did a lot of organizing and reorganizing.  I made two scrapbook layouts and a card.  Not too bad.

I'd like to share the card today.  I didn't put a sentiment on the outside.  I've kept it simple so that when I need a card in a hurry, all I have to do is put a sentiment on the inside and I'm good to go!

Here is my card

I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.  I used an Anna Griffin die to cut the shape and then traced the die and fussy cut it to make the shadow.  I had fun making this card.  If you'd like any of the details, leave me a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come by again to see what I'm up to.

Valentine's Day Treats

Hello Everyone,

Here in New York today it is really, really, really cold!!!!  I hope you are all safe and comfortable wherever you are.

For today's post I'd like to share some Lollipop Treat Holders I made for my niece Sophia.  Sophia is 3 years old, she's also my Goddaughter, and I have to say probably the most beautiful, smart, adorable child on the planet!  (That's my unbiased opinion!  LOL!) I just love her to pieces.  Anyway Sophia, like so many other little girls her age, loves the movie Frozen.  I was recently able to purchase a great Disney Frozen paper stack and decided to make her Valentine's Day card and some treat holders using it.  I forgot to take a picture of the card, but I did take pictures of the lollipop treat holders.  I think they came out really cute and I hope she likes them.  Inside the holders are Tootsie Pops.  Here they are:

I've seen lollipop treat holders on many websites and lots of people have instructions on how to make them.  For mine I played around with some dies for the flap and layered them two different ways.  I love the way they came out.

If you'd like information about the treat holders leave me a comment and I'll be happy to share what I've done.

I hope you'll stop by again soon and check out what I'm up to.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Hugs,
Paula

Birthday Card

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.,  Here in New York we are experiencing some pretty strange weather.  Yesterday the weather had warmed a bit and a lot of snow and ice started to melt.  This morning, my car had a thin layer of ice coating it and it was raining and hailing at the same time.  YIKES!!  Not a good way to start the week.

Today I'd like to share a birthday card I made for a friend.  I just got a new Anna Griffin die and knew I wanted to use it to make my friend's card.

In addition to using the Anna Griffin die, I also embossed the sentiment using part of the new Anna Griffin Mix and Match Embossing Folder collection.  I just love it and I hope my friend will too.  If you'd like the details or have any questions, leave me a comment.

I hope you'll come back again and see what I'm up to.

Hugs,
Paula

Happy Wednesday!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

Here in NY we are getting back to normal after a huge snow storm.  We had a "snow day" off from work yesterday, so after shoveling for hours and getting a few things in order around the house, I took a little time to play in my craft room.  I recently purchased the new Anna Griffin Mix and Match embossing folders and dies and I was excited to try making a card using one of the folders. Take a look below.

I just love it!!! It was a lot of fun trying to decide whether I should emboss the sentiment along with the card front, cut out the rectangle where the sentiment goes and make a window card or emboss the sentiment separately and pop it up on the front.  I decided to go with the last option and was happy with my result.  These folders give you lots of options.  I can't wait to try the rest.

Also I thought I'd share a Valentine Card I made using a Darice embossing folder, a few rubber stamps from the Michael's Dollar bins and some flowers and pearl hearts I had in my stash.  I think it came out pretty cute.

Finally, here is a little gift bag I made with the WRMK Gift Bag Punch Board.

Forgive the color, it wasn't quite that bright in real life.  I embellished the bag with a border I created using a Martha Stewart punch and added flowers, pearls and ribbon from my stash.  I really like how it turned out.

That's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.  Check back again to see what I'm up to.

Hugs,
Paula

Purrfect Birthday!

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I'd like to share another card I made for the Birthday Card Club.  This card really took me out of my comfort zone, but I think it came out great!  Let me know what you think.

The intended recipient of this card said she loved cats so this is what I came up with.  As usual I started with a 5" x 7" white Georgia Pacific card stock base.  I added a black layer and then a brick reddish sparkly layer.  The black paper and that fabulous sparkly patterned paper are by Recollections.  The patterned paper comes from the Union Station stack.  That adorably kitty was cut using my Cricut and the Paisley cartridge.  I placed the kitty on a oval I cut with the largest Spellbinders Floral ovals die.  To dress the kitty up a little I added some gold flat back pearls, also by Recollections.  And because a princess can never have too much bling I added some gold braided ribbon from Offray at the corners.  I hope she likes it, I know I had fun making it.

Hope to see you again soon.
Hugs,
Paula

Thank you

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I'd like to share a card I made for my brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew to thank them for a very thoughtful birthday gift they gave me.

This is a 5" x 7" card the base of which is Georgia Pacific White card stock.  My brown layer is Recollections card stock and the patterned paper is from the My Minds Eye - Indie Chic Saffron collection.  I cut the shape I used for my sentiment from two coordinating Lifestyle Crafts dies that I got for free with my Genius magnetic platform.  (I love using the magnetic platform, it makes cutting so much easier.)  The stamp and ink are by Close to My Heart.  The beautiful brown satin ribbon is by Offray.

I was very fortunate to receive several wonderful gifts this year for my birthday.  So I have a couple more thank you cards to make and I'll be sharing them here.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back again to see what else I'm up to.

Hugs,
Paula

Masculine Birthday Card

Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Monday!  It is a dreary, rainy day today here in New York.  Hopefully the sun will come out soon.

Today I'd like to share a card I made for my brother-in-law's birthday.  I just fell in love with the paper and knew I had to make a card with it.

My card base is 5X7 and cut from GP white card stock.  The solid paper and the patterned are by Recollections.  The patterned paper is called Blue and White Trellis.  I cut the banner shapes using the Sizzix Banner die set.  I embossed the blue banner layer using the Stampin' Up Modern Mosaic Embossing folder.   I stamped my sentiment using a Closet to My Heart stamp and Dew Drop Versa Magic Night Sky Ink.   I love the way this card turned out and I hope he does too.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to have more to show you soon.

Hugs,
Paula

Birthday Card

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I'd like to share another card I made for the Birthday Card Club I participate in.  I'm really happy to be participating in this "Club" because I find the challenge of creating cards using colors or styles that someone else likes instead of what I would normally do, a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow.  I'm having the best time doing this.  Thanks so much Lori www.craftinblind.blogspot.com for asking me to participate.

Now let's get to the card!

I started this 5"x7" card with a white card base.  My first layer is Grenadine Bazzill Basics card stock.  The pink and red polka dot paper and the red and white striped paper are from the Recollections Bright and Basic's stack.  I cut the frame that houses my sentiment from the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge.  My sentiment is stamped with a Fiskars stamp using Stampin' Up Real Red Ink.  I also added some Stampin' Up Brights Candy Dots and Recollections Flowers for embellishment.  The ribbon going across the card is Morex Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon.

Red and pink isn't a color combination I would normally think to use, but those were two colors that the intended recipient of this card said she likes.  I'm really happy with the way the card turned out.  I hope the recipient will like it too.

I hope you'll stop by again soon to see what I'm up to.

Hugs,
Paula

Just a Note

Hello Everyone,

Today I'd like to share another note card I made.

For this card I started with a 4/14 x 5 1/2 white carde base from The Paper Company.  My first layer is a double sided piece of patterned paper from K&Company's Life's Little Occasions Stack, then a white Georgia Pacific cardstock layer.  The final layer is the solid, second side of the patterned paper.  I added the some cute little flags made by American Crafts in the corner.  Down toward the bottom I cut a banner shape and frame using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and added some Recollections enamel dots up in the corner and on the banner edge.  My sentiment is stamped using a Close to My Heart stamp and Gold Rush ink.

That's my card for today.  Check back again soon to see what else I've been up to.

Hugs,
Paula

Happy Birthday!

Good Morning!  TGIF!

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Birthday Card club I'm a participant in.  This card is for a lovely lady who said she likes roses and butterflies.  I think I've come up with something she'll like.

This 5"x7" card starts with a white Georgia Pacific card stock base.  I added a layer of Bazzill pink card stock and then my patterned paper layer from K & Company Brenda Walton Designer Paper.  I love this pattern!  I've used it before on a thank you card a few weeks ago.  The oval tag in the center of the card, the frame around it, as well as the butterfly were all cut using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge. This cartridge is a favorite and I find myself going to it again and again.  Through the tag I've put a length of Stampin' Up Rose Red Seam Binding and added three pink roses from Recollections for embellishment.  My sentiment is stamped using a Close to My Heart Stamp and their Cotton Candy Ink.

Well that's my card for today.  I hope you like it and I hope the recipient likes it too!

Have a great weekend everyone!
Hugs,
Paula

Hello!

Good Morning!!!

I'm back today with another note card.

For this card I started with a plain white card base from The Paper Company.  When folded the card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  To that I added a dark brown layer measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and a layer of patterned paper measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  The dark brown paper is the back side of the patterned paper and it is by Fancy Pants Designs.  I cut a shape for my sentiment using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I inked around the edges with Frayed Brulap Distress Ink and popped it up on one thickness of foam tape.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Michaels $2.00 bin, it was part of a set of three.  I thought the scroll design that is under the word Hello went nicely with all the other scroll shapes on the paper.  The sentiment was stamped with Close to My Heart Chocolate Ink.  To finish it off I added two Stampin' Up Brights Collection Candy Dots.

Check back again next week.  I hope to have more cards to share.

Hugs,
Paula

Note Card

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Here in NY the weather was just perfect.

Today I'd like to share a Note Card I made for a friend.  Every year her daughter goes to camp and she  likes to send her little notes.  She has asked me to make note cards for her to send her daughter the last few years and I'm so happy to do it.

Here is the first note card I made.  It's a simple card but I really like the way it turned out.

The base of my card is a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 plain white card from The Paper Company. My first layer, the oval frame and the band going across the card was cut from turquoise colored Bazzill card stock.  The patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Snap collection.  The oval and the frame were cut on my Cricuit from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The white oval is cut out of Georgia Pacific card stock.  I used Dew Drop Versa Magic Turquoise Gem Ink and a Close to My Heart Stamp for my sentiment.  The inside was left blank so that Mother could write a loving note to her daughter.  I think this card came out great.  I'm going to make a few more of these to keep on hand for those times when you need a quick card.  With a change to the sentiment, I've got a card for any occasion.

That's my card for today.  I hope to be back again soon with more note cards to share.

Hugs,
Paula
