Shoes!

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend and found time to do something you enjoy.  I got to spend a little time in my craft room this weekend and made a really fun card with a new set of stamps I purchased from Pink By Design.

Anyone who knows me knows I love, love, love shoes.  So when I saw this stamp set I just had to have it.  Here is my card.

For my card base I used MPad black card stock, my first layer is Georgia Pacific white card stock.  The patterned paper is by Nicole Crafts.  The white oval was cut with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Beaded Ovals die and it was embellished with red Queen & Co. pearls.  The red satin ribbon was from my stash and the gorgeous shoe and sentiment are Pink By Design stamps, stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  Don't you just love that sentiment!  You can check out all of the Pink By Design stamps at www.pinkcricut.com

This card will be linked up on the Pink Cricut Link up party.
Have a great week!

Card for a friend

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a great holiday and spent some time with the people you love. I also got to spend some time in my craft room which made me very happy!  I did a few layouts which I may share some other time, but today I'd like to share a card I made.  I have a wonderful friend who is going through a rough time right now.  I haven't seen her in a while but wanted to send her a little note to wish her well and let her know I was thinking of her.  Here is my card.

This 5x7 inch card was fun to make.  The golden yellow card stock and the brown pearls are from Recollections. The floral patterned paper is from the DCWV Spring Fling stack. The light yellow card stock is from Colorbok.  The side border was cut with the Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge and the butterfly and piece with the sentiment were cut with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The sentiments were stamped using Close to My Heart stamps and their olive ink.  The edges of the butterfly and the sentiment on the front were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.  Both the sentiment and the butterfly were adhered down with foam tape to add some dimension.

That's my card for today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Paula

Scrap-tastic Layout!

Good morning everyone!  I hope everyone is doing well after the latest round of bad weather -- a Nor-easter!

Today I'd like to share a layout I made a while ago and forgot to post.  I'm calling it my Scrap-tastic layout because I recently participated in a Swap run by Sarabeth at www.swappinscraps.blogspot.com that called for us to put together packages of our patterned paper scraps and swap them with a Swap Buddy.  Well I lucked out in the Swap Buddy department because my Buddy had the most beautiful, organized scraps you could have ever imagined.  (Thanks Margie! www.bumblesandfairytales.blogspot.com)  Now that I had gotten this new stash of scraps I wondered what I'd do with it.  It didn't take me too long to find the perfect project.  I was visiting a blog that I love to get ideas from.  It belongs to Kathryn at www.thescrapbeach.blogspot.com and I found my project.  It was a starburst scrapbook layout.  It sounded like a fun idea and I had never tried one, so I figured what the heck.  To make this layout I thought I'd use some of Margie's great scraps, and here is what I came up with.

All the lovely patterned papers are the scraps - aren't they great!  I chose to do my starburst a little differently than Kathryn's, I added little 1/4 strips of solid paper in between the sections to make the papers stand out a bit more.  The solid papers, are all by Recollections.  I cut two shapes using my Cricut and stamped them with a coordinating stamp from Close to My Heart.  The sentiment stamp, ink and metal brad are also CTMH.  The metal corners are by Momenta.   And, of course, that beautiful boy in the picture is my Jackson.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

Good Morning Everyone!

With Hurricane Sandy approaching, I hope everyone is home and safe.  They say it is going to be pretty bad, let's hope they are wrong!

Today I'd like to share a card I made with a new product I found at Joann's.  I had coupons so I went to Joann's on Saturday to see if they had anything interesting.  The craft section at the Joann's where I live is small, so I shop more often at Michael's and AC Moore.  I knew they had the DCWV adhesive backed fabric paper which I have had my eye on for a while, but I wanted to see what else they had.  Well, I came across a new line from David Tutera.  He is a famous Wedding Planner/Coordinator and he has a show on WE TV.  He has this line of cards, border strips and die cut embellishments.  I decided to give two of these items a try so I picked up a pack of the Layers and a pack of Border Strips.  The Layers say they are for use on an A2 or A6 card and the Border Strips say they are for an A7 card.  Today I'll be focusing on the Layers. They come 12 in a package.  The package I chose was half craft and half white card stock. Half are die cuts and half are 5 1/4 X 4 inch solid layers with an embossed pattern. For this card I chose to use one of the die cuts and change it up a bit.  There was a grid pattern in the center which I removed and replaced with a piece of black card stock.  And I decided to color it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Crimson. I had purchased the Glimmer Mist a long time ago, but had never used it.  It's hard to see, but if you look at the second picture closely, you can see the pretty sheen the glimmer mist gives.  I'm definitely going to try some more colors in the future.

My base card is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 cut from black cardstock.  My next layer is 4 X 5 1/4 cut from white card stock.  For my sentiment I used a CTMH stamp and CTMH White Daisy ink.  I added 4 Queen and Company black pearls and my card was complete.  I had fun trying out some new products, and I hope to share a project using the David Tutera border strips sometime soon.  Till then, thanks for stopping by and please stay safe.

Hugs,
Paula

Creepy!

Good Morning Everyone,

As I mentioned yesterday I got to spend some time in my Craft Room this weekend.  Today I have another project that I worked on to share with you.

This is a coffin treat box I made from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge.  Artiste is fast becoming one of my all time favorite cartridges along with Art Philosophy.  They were both expensive splurges, but so worth it!  Anyway, the paper I used is from the DCWV Tradewinds stack.  It has a wood grain look to it.  For the sentiment, I used a CTMH Dimensional Elements Mixed Shape piece stamped with a Craftsmart Happy Halloween stamp.  After stamping I used some Stampendous Black Embossing Powder and heat set it.  It is hard to see in the picture, but the sentiment has a glossy appearance.  I inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I added two bat embellishments from Sandy Lion Essentials.  I filled the inside of the box with candy and I'm going to give it to my husband for Halloween.  He loves Halloween so I thought this little treat box would be just perfect for him.

Thanks for stopping by.

It's Fall!

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I'm happy to report that I was able to sneak in some much needed time in my Craft Room this weekend.  HURRAY!  I got to work on a few projects and I'd like to share one with you now.  My card today is a Fall card.  Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love the rich, warm colors and the cool, crisp air.

All the card stock used on the card, brown, rust and beige, are all by Recollections, as are the three gems on the bottom left corner.  The patterned paper is from the DCWV Autumn Melody Stack, I'm so loving this stack!  The scalloped squares and leaves were cut using Cuttlebug dies. The acorns and letters were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  The leaves and acorns were inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  On the inside the sentiment reads:  Celebrate the Season, but I forgot to take a picture.

That's my card for today.  I hope to share another project with you tomorrow.

Paula

Thank You Card

Hi everyone,

I have a thank you card to share today.  It is a 5X7 inch card.  I usually make thank you cards smaller like note cards, but I thought I'd do a large thank you card for a change.

This card came together quickly and I made it using things from my stash.  For the base I used Recollections card stock.  The white layer is Georgia Pacific card stock cut at 4 3/4 X 6 3/4.  Then I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the strip down the center and some Craft Smart ribbon was adhered on top.  I used Spellbinders dies, Large Scalloped Rectangle and Large Rectangle to make the center medallion. I stamped the sentiment using a Close to My Heart stamp and pansy purple ink.  In the corner I put a Recollections flower with a Queen & Company pearl in the middle.  This card was easy to make and a lot of fun.  I hope you liked it!  Thanks for stopping by.

Master Crafter Entry

Good Morning!

For today's post I have something a little different.  I am participating in a Master Crafter Challenge.  The challenge was on the http://www.pinkcricut.com, and there are a number of wonderful sponsors who have generously donated the materials with which we had to craft something.  We were sent a box containing a Scissor Mouse sponsored by Westcott, DCWV Rockstar mat stack sponsored by DCWV Deals, cottonbag sponsored by State line Bag Co., 1/2 sheet of rhinestones sponsored by Queen & Co., sentiment stamp sponsored by Pink by Design, assorted buttons.  (Note:  I did not receive the buttons that were supposed to have been included in the box, and was advised to substitute any buttons.)

For my project I did the scrapbook layout you see below.
The green strip and green squares were cut from the DCWV paper using the scissor mouse.  The letters were cut on the Cricut using the DCWV paper as well.  I took the cotton bag from State Line Bag Company and turned it into a rosette.  The Pink By Design stamp was used twice in the center of each of the heart designs on the green squares and I have three Queen & Co. rhinestones at the corner of the photo mat.  I hope you enjoyed my project and if you did, please stop by http://www.pinkcricut.com and vote for me!  Thanks so much!

Birthday Layout

Good Morning,

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I know I haven't posted much lately, but hopefully I'll get back to posting more regularly.  Today I'd like to share layout I made a while ago of my niece's birthday party. I had a lot of pictures from the party, but I couldn't resist making a layout with these.  Just seeing her with all that pink frosting on her hands makes me smile.  I wonder what she was thinking.

The paper and embellishment stickers are all from Carta Bella's Paris Girl collection.  The pearls and flowers are by Recollections.

Thanks for stopping by.

Two kinds of birthday cards

Good Morning Everyone!  I hope you all had a nice long holiday weekend.  I know I enjoyed mine, particularly since I got to spend some time in my craft room.  That's what makes me most happy.

I created two birthday cards and they couldn't be more different.  The first card is very basic and simple.  It could be used for either a man or a woman.

This is a 5"x7" card.  For the base of the card I used ColorBök brown card stock. Tthe stripped paper is also by Colorbök, and it's from the Sunset Glow stack.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four Small dies to cut the orange and cream labels.  (The orange card stock is by ColorBök and the cream is by Recollections.)  The sentiment is from CTMH and I stamped it with Versa Magic Gingerbead chalk ink.

Now for the second card.  Something totally different, intricately folded and very girly!  This card is a Double ZigZag card.  I saw this folded card on a blog somewhere -- and I apologize because I cannot remember where.  I changed it up a bit, but I think it came out really nice.

This card is a 4"x6" card when folded.  The base of the card is made using cream Recollections card stock and the edges are all punched with a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch.  (I can't recall the name of the punch set, but it is one of my favorites.)   The pink and blue floral papers are both from the DCWV French Country Stack.  All the pearls are by Recollections.  I used several different sizes.  The label on the band that holds the card together was cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four Small dies.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is by Fiskars.  The sentiment stamped on the inside (Have a day filled with
. . . Love) and the heart are from the CTMH Celebration stamp set.  Everything was stamped with CTMH Vineyard Berry ink.

Well that's it for today.  I hope you liked the cards.

Paula

Banner

Good morning everyone,

Today I'd like to share a banner I made.  I'm hoping to repaint my craft room soon.  As you can see the color is dark and not too inspiring.  It was supposed to be a burgundy however it is more like a muddy brick.  Anyway, when I repaint it will be light and airy and have touches of black and white.

I used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to make each of the pennants and I used the Cricut Type Candy cartridge for the letters.  The sheer pink ribbon, black satin ribbon and string pearls are all from my stash.  The flowers are by Recollections.  For the paper I used black and white cardstock from Georgia Pacific.  I get it really cheap at Walmart and it is a great weight for just about everything. The patterned paper is by Nicole Crafts and the collection is called Black & White.

This is going to be my inspiration to get moving on redoing my craft room.

Hugs,
Paula

Jackson's Boo Boo

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I'd like to share a layout I did.  I've never posted a layout before.  So here goes. This layout is a two page 12 x 12 layout and it was done following my dog Jackson's recent surgery.  He had a tumor removed from his foot and hopefully he's going to be fine.  The layout shows him following the surgery with a bandage, the stitches in his foot, and wearing a cone so that he didn't lick the stitches once the bandage was removed.

The striped paper in the background is from Nicole Crafts, the paper pack was called Funky Spice.  I got it at AC Moore.  The purple paper used for some of the photo mats and the accent stripes as well as the green paper used on the remaining mats are all from Recollections.  The journaling cards were cut using the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and stamped with the coordinating stamp.  The ink used for the stamping was also from CTMH and so were the colored pencils I used to write on the journaling cards.  The crutches and pill bottle embellishments are by EK Success and the paws and the woof came from Queen and Co. and are a Core'dinations Match product.

Thanks for stopping by.

Paula

Thank you card

Good morning everyone!

Today I'd like to share a card I card I made for my brother, sister-in-law and beautiful baby niece to thank them for the very thoughtful birthday gift they gave me.

The base of this 6" x 6" card was made using paper from the DCWV Spring Fling stack.  I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. The first layer is a piece of Recollections cardstock cut using the Fleur de Lis Squares Nestabilities die.  For the oval I used the back of the same piece of DCWV paper so that the color would be exact.  I cut it with the Nestabilities Floral Ovals die.  The pearls are all Recollections.  The stamp is an old one from my stash and the ink is from Close to My Heart in Cotton Candy.  On the inside of the card I layered a piece of the blue Recollections cardstock cut at 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" with rounded corners, and on top of that, another piece of the plain side of the DCWV paper cut at 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" again with rounded corners.  I hope they like the card, and I hope you like it too.  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Birthday Card

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Today I'd like to share a simple birthday card I made for my niece Donna.  It is a 5 x 7 inch card made out of Recollections cream cardstock.  The layer on top is a beautiful floral from K and Company cut at 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.  The center medallion was cut using the largest of the Nestabilities Floral Ovals.  The ribbons (pink ribbon is layered over lacy cream ribbon) are from the $1.00 bins at Michaels and the pearls are by Recollections.  The Happy Birthday! stamp is from Close To My Heart and I stamped it using their Cotton Candy ink.

I hope you liked my card.  I'd love to hear what you think. This card has been Linked Up on the Pink Cricut Tuesday Link Up Party.

Mini Album

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today I'd like to finally share pictures of the mini album I created for a swap I participated in.  Warning:  There are a lot of pictures.

So here we go:  This is the cover and the first inside page.  The matting for the first page is a Cricut cut I tweaked a bit with my Gypsy.

Next are two pages with an undercut page in between.  The undercut page houses a pull out tag that opens.  It can hold 4 pictures.  I added a cute key charm to the ribbon pull.  On the second side of the undercut page is a short pocket that holds two additional small tags.

Here is pocket page that holds a large tag. The mats on these two pages were again cut using my Cricut.

This is the next page which has a short vertical pocket holding two more tags.

These next two pictures show another page with an undercut page.  I've used a short pocket to add small tags.  In the second picture you can see another a pull out tag for 4 more photos with a crystal bead and charm dangle attached to the ribbon pull. The large mat on the left was cut using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch.

This next photo is the other side of the undercut page and a large pocket page with a tag.

And here are the last two pages of the album. The mat on the final page is another Cricut cut that I altered with my Gypsy.

I hope my "Swap Buddy" will like this album.  I enjoyed making it and I hope you enjoyed seeing it.

This has been "Linked Up" on the Pink Cricut Link Up Party.

Paula

Some more cards

Good morning!

Today I have two more cards to share.  They are simple note cards that will be sent to a girl at camp from her Mom.  She likes cats, so I made two cards with a cat theme.

This first one was made using the Paisley Cricut cartridge.  The cat and all her parts were cut at 3 3/4 inches.  The white oval was cut using Nestabilities Floral Ovals. All the cardstock used is from Recollections.
(This card has been linked up on Pinkcricut.com)

The second one was made using a DCWV pre-made card as a base.  Then I took a piece of paper from the their Pets Stack and tied it with some black cording. I cut the cording to make it look like whiskers.

That's all for today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Cards

Hello Everyone,

Today I'd like to share a few cards.  I was asked to create some note cards for a Mom to send to her daughter who is away at camp.

The first one is a shaped card.  I used Nestabilities Lattice Rectangles to cut the card.  The paper is from the DCWV French Country Stack with a Recollections white rose.

The second one is made using the DCWV Crafty Stack. The spool of thread and mini tape measure embellishments are by Jolee's and I printed the sentiment on the computer.  I added some faux stitching.

I also have a sneak peek at the mini album I mentioned in my last post.

Here is the cover.  I just love the way it came out.

I hope you enjoyed my latest projects.  I'd love to hear what you think.

Hugs,
Paula

Hi Everyone,

I know it's been a while, but I've had a lot going on.  I recently went to my very first Crop and had the best time ever!!!  I'm also participating in my first "swap".  It is a mini album swap and I've been working feverishly on it so hopefully I'll have some pictures to show you soon.  Today though, I'd like to share a card I made for a friend who just retired from work.  She has been a dear friend for many years and life at work will not be the same without her.

It is just your basic 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 card with a 4 X 5 1/4 pink mat.  Layered on top of that is a beautiful piece paper from the DCWV French Country Stack, cut and embossed with the Spellbinders Fleur de lis rectangles die.  I added some pearls and flowers from my stash along with a tag I cut using the We R Memorykeepers Scallop/Cloud Corner Chomper.  The sentiment was typed on my computer.  Inside, I used a pink mat and a white mat and wrote a personal note.  My friend Linda loved the card and I hope you do too.

Hugs,
Paula

Shaped Card

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today I'd like to share a shaped card.  I've seen so many blog posts and videos featuring shaped cards using Spellbinders or similar dies.  So taking that inspiration, I decided to create one.  (BTW, if you want to see some really amazing shaped cards using Spellbinders dies, check out Lisa's blog http://indymermaid.blogspot.com/.)

Here's my card -

The base of the card is cut using the largest Spellbinders Fleur de lis rectangle.  Then there is a black mat cut at 3 X 3 3/4 then a black and white polka dot mat cut at 2 3/4 X 3 1/2.  Next I used the Spellbinders Persian Accents die to cut the black piece in the center.  I used Recollections pearls from my stash and the peach flower in the center is also by Recollections.  Inside I matted the card with the same size black mat and instead of a polka dot mat I put a plain mat so I could write a note or stamp a sentiment.  This card could be used for a number of things.  I think I may use it for a thank you card.  This card has been Linked Up on the Pink Cricut Link Up Tuesday and I have also submitted it to the Die Cuttin Divas Challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Paula

Purse Mini

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Mother's Day!

My project today is a Purse Mini.  The purse shape was cut on my Cricut using the Paisley cartridge -- a cartridge I don't use enough -- and my Gypsy.  The papers used on the mini are from the DCWV Crafty Stack, Colorbok, Recollections and K & Company.  The album is made using an accordion type binding system and it was fun and easy to put together.  Here are some pictures -- some not so great sorry!

The flap on the purse was cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge. The pearls are from Recollections and the flowers I had in my stash.

When you open the purse there is a pocket on the cover and a tag pulls out which can be used for two photos or journaling.  The first page has a flap that you lift up so you can include a photo on the front, on the inside top of the flap and on the bottom.

These two pages are plain, flat pages, but there is a pocket on the side which houses a tri-fold pull-out which you can see a bit of down in the corner of the very bad photo!  Sorry!!!

These two pages flap open horizontally.

Here's another page with a flap that lifts up.
This is another page with a side picket for a tri-fold pullout.

Another bad picture showing one side of the flaps open.

And finally, the last page. All together there are about 40 spaces for photos and/or journaling.
Well that's my project for today.  I hope you liked it.  I'd love to hear what you think.

Hugs,
Paula

TGIF and a Quick Card

Happy Friday Everyone!

I'm so glad it's almost the weekend.  Today I want to share a quick card I made.  A while ago I bought some ribbon at Michael's from the $1.00 bin.  I recently purchased the Sew Ribbon from We Are Memory Keepers with a gift card that my Godson Brad gave me for Christmas.  I was playing around and discovered that my $1.00 Michael's ribbon fit perfectly in the Sew Ribbon slots, so I put together this quick little card.  The stamp for sentiment is also a Michael's $1.00 bin find!  For the background I used Nestibilities and the flowers and brad were from my stash.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Hugs,
Paula

Spring Banner

I spent a good amount of time in my craftroom this Sunday and it felt really good.  I did a layout, a couple of cards and a banner.  I'd like to share the banner with you today.  I made this banner to perk up my very, very, dull, drab cubicle at work.

I used my Cricut to design the banner.  The cartridges I used were Elegant Edges for each section and Plantin School Book for the letters.  The ribbon is Celebrate It sheer ribbon from Michaels and the little pearls at each corner are I-Rock Glam Rocks Pearls and were put on with my I-Rock, of course.  The little flowers on each were just flowers I had in my stash --white paper flowers and purple ribbon flowers with pearls sewed on.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs, Paula
