Happy Birthday!

Good Morning!  TGIF!

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for the Birthday Card club I'm a participant in.  This card is for a lovely lady who said she likes roses and butterflies.  I think I've come up with something she'll like.

This 5"x7" card starts with a white Georgia Pacific card stock base.  I added a layer of Bazzill pink card stock and then my patterned paper layer from K & Company Brenda Walton Designer Paper.  I love this pattern!  I've used it before on a thank you card a few weeks ago.  The oval tag in the center of the card, the frame around it, as well as the butterfly were all cut using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge. This cartridge is a favorite and I find myself going to it again and again.  Through the tag I've put a length of Stampin' Up Rose Red Seam Binding and added three pink roses from Recollections for embellishment.  My sentiment is stamped using a Close to My Heart Stamp and their Cotton Candy Ink.

Well that's my card for today.  I hope you like it and I hope the recipient likes it too!

Have a great weekend everyone!
Hugs,
Paula

Hello!

Good Morning!!!

I'm back today with another note card.

For this card I started with a plain white card base from The Paper Company.  When folded the card measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  To that I added a dark brown layer measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and a layer of patterned paper measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  The dark brown paper is the back side of the patterned paper and it is by Fancy Pants Designs.  I cut a shape for my sentiment using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I inked around the edges with Frayed Brulap Distress Ink and popped it up on one thickness of foam tape.  The sentiment is a stamp from the Michaels $2.00 bin, it was part of a set of three.  I thought the scroll design that is under the word Hello went nicely with all the other scroll shapes on the paper.  The sentiment was stamped with Close to My Heart Chocolate Ink.  To finish it off I added two Stampin' Up Brights Collection Candy Dots.

Check back again next week.  I hope to have more cards to share.

Hugs,
Paula

Note Card

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Here in NY the weather was just perfect.

Today I'd like to share a Note Card I made for a friend.  Every year her daughter goes to camp and she  likes to send her little notes.  She has asked me to make note cards for her to send her daughter the last few years and I'm so happy to do it.

Here is the first note card I made.  It's a simple card but I really like the way it turned out.

The base of my card is a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 plain white card from The Paper Company. My first layer, the oval frame and the band going across the card was cut from turquoise colored Bazzill card stock.  The patterned paper is from the Simple Stories Snap collection.  The oval and the frame were cut on my Cricuit from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The white oval is cut out of Georgia Pacific card stock.  I used Dew Drop Versa Magic Turquoise Gem Ink and a Close to My Heart Stamp for my sentiment.  The inside was left blank so that Mother could write a loving note to her daughter.  I think this card came out great.  I'm going to make a few more of these to keep on hand for those times when you need a quick card.  With a change to the sentiment, I've got a card for any occasion.

That's my card for today.  I hope to be back again soon with more note cards to share.

Hugs,
Paula

Get Well Card

Good Morning!

I hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend.  The weather on Long Island was just perfect.

Today I have a quick card to share.  It's a Get Well card I made for a woman I work for.  She had to have a surgical procedure and she's going to be out of the office for a while.  I wanted to send her a quick card to let her know I've got her in my thoughts and that I'm hoping she'll be back to work soon.

I started out with a white card stock base cut at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4".  I then added a dark purple layer cut from Recollections card stock at 4 1/8" x 6 1/8".  My embossed layer uses the same GP white card stock embossed using the Sizzix Lacy Brocade embossing folder and cut at 4" x 6".  I cut the ovals out using the largest two ovals from my Nestabilities ovals dies. The card front and the purple layer were cut with the smaller of the two ovals.  The white embossed layer was cut with the largest oval.  I embellished the card with two Recollections purple flowers and a piece of white ribbon from my stash.  I stamped the sentiment with Close to My Heart ink and a stamp from the Dollar Bins at Michaels.  This was the first time I had made a card with a "window" that lets the sentiment show through.  I'm definitely going to try to make more of these.

I hope you liked my card and that you'll stop by again to see what I'm up to.

Hugs,
Paula

Floral Thank You

Good Morning!

I have a quick Thank You card to share today.  I am fortunate to work with some wonderful people.  In recognition of Administrative Professionals' Day I was given a beautiful floral arrangement.  The arrangement is absolutely gorgeous and contains so many beautiful flowers in shades of pink, purple and red.  All of my favorites!  So to thank the wonderful person who gave me the flowers, I made this card.

My card is an A2 sized card, the base of which was cut from Bazzill "Pinkini" card stock.  I then added a layer that was an 1/8 of an inch smaller in white Georgia Pacific card stock.  My final layer, again an 1/8 of an inch smaller, is a beautiful floral from K&Company.  I also layered a rectangle for my sentiment using the two card stocks.  I added some Stampin' Up Red Rose Ribbon Seam Binding and roses and enamel dots by Recollections.  My sentiment was stamped with a Fiskars stamp using Close to My Heart Cotton Candy Ink.
That's my card for today.  Stop by again to check out what I'm up to!

Birthday Roses

Good Morning Everyone!!!

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Today I'd like to share a card I made for a member of the Birthday Card club.  This lovely lady said she liked the color green, so that's how I decided on this card's design.  (Please excuse the quality of the photo.  For some reason there seems to be a pink cast to the paper.  It isn't pink, it is definitely white.)

I started off with a piece of Bazzill card stock in Guacamole.  I then added an embossed layer using Georgia Pacific card stock and the Sizzix Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  To add some dimension, I repeated the layers.  For the embellishments, I used the Sizzix Sizzlits Branch with Leaves die and three shades of green roses by Recollections.  To finish off the card I tied on a piece of green Offray ribbon, added a layered oval cut with my Cricut and stamped with a Close to My Heart stamp and ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you enjoyed the card.

Hugs,
Paula

Thank You Card

Good Morning and TGIF!!!

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weekend.  I know I am.

Today I'd like to share a Thank You card I made.  It is very similar to a birthday card I made a while ago.

This is an A2 sized card.  I started with Recollections black card stock and then added a layer of white Georgia Pacific card stock.  My patterned layer is from the My Minds Eye Indie Chic collection.  I used the same papers for the banners which I cut using the Sizzix Banner die set.  I added some Stampin' Up Candy Dots from their Brights collection.  I stamped my sentiment with Stampin' Up Real Red ink on a ticket shape I cut using Sizzix Ticket dies.  The pretty red flower is from Recollections.  The bakers twine I used is from the Target $1.00 section and the sentiment stamp came from the $2.00 bins at Michaels.  I just love looking for crafty goodies in those bargain areas.  Don't you?

Well I hope you enjoyed today's card and I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
Paula
