Final March Birthday Card Club Card

Good Morning!

TGIF!!!!  I'm so happy its Friday.  Today I'd like to share the last of the March birthday cards I made for the Birthday Card Club.  There were five birthdays in the month of March, and with limited crafting time, it was a bit of a challenge to make all the cards.  I'm happy to report I was able to get all the cards made and sent out.  Whether or not they arrived on time for each person's birthday is another story!  I hope all the wonderful ladies in the club will forgive any unintentional lateness.

Here's my card

This 5"x7" card starts with a white card base cut from Georgia Pacific card stock.  There is an aqua layer and then a dotted mat and an aqua mat.  All the aqua paper is by Recollections and the dotted paper is by DCWV.  I used a Sizzix embossing folder (sorry I don't know the name of the folder) to add some fun texture and interest to the bottom aqua mat.  I used a Spellbinders die from the Persion Accents set to cut the strip going across the center of the card.  For the piece at the top that says Happy Birthday, I used a Spellbinders die from the Fancy Tags set.  The pretty teal ribbon is from Nicole Crafts.  The Happy Birthday stamp is by CTMH as are the teal enamel dots.  The ink is Dew Drop Versa Magic Ink.

For the inside of the card

I have an aqua mat and a white mat.  The sentiment is a Fiskars stamp using the same Dew Drop Versa Magic Ink.

Well that's my final March birthday card.  I hope the special lady who received this card likes it.  I hope you did too.  Leave me a comment and let me know.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs,
Paula

Another March Birthday Card for the Birthday Card Club

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'd like to share another card I made for the Birthday Card Club I'm a part of.  It has been so much fun trying to come up with different ideas using colors or things that interest people that you don't even know.  I hope the recipients of all my cards are enjoying them as much as I'm enjoying making them.  I'm also trying to use items that I already have.  I have a tendency to hoard pretty paper and embellishments, so I thought for these special ladies, it was time to start using some of those things I've been holding on to.  If the card today looks familiar, it is because I used the same paper on the baby shower card I posted a few days ago.  The person this card was going to said they liked blue and green, so I thought this paper was perfect.

Here's my card:

The card is a 5"x7" card with a base of Georgia Pacific white card stock.  Then there is alayer of Recollections light blue cardstock and the patterned paper is DCWV.  The brown paper I cut the cake from has faint circles on it which I thought looked a little like icing swirls.  The circles have a little touch of glitter on them in blue and green.  It is also from DCWV.  The cake and the pedestal it is sitting on were both cut from the Cricut cartridge Sweet Treats.  The sheer ribbon is from a company called Morex.  The brads are from Doodlebug and the pearls and flowers are from Recollections.  The white shape at the top was cut from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and I used  coordinating CTMH stamps and ink for the Happy Birthday.

For the inside of the card

I layered a light blue mat and a white mat and stamped my sentiment.  The sentiment is a Fiskars stamp and once again I used CTMH ink.

That's my card for today.  Let me know what you think.

Hugs,
Paula

Baby Shower Card

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Here in New York we had a beautiful day on Saturday, the weather was warm and we almost got into the 60s.  However, it is cold again today and they are saying we might have snow tomorrow into Wednesday -- so much for Spring!  Anyway, enough about the weather, I want to share a card I made for a dear, sweet, crafty friend who is about to have a baby.  I was fortunate enough to get invited to her baby shower and I knew I just had to make her card.

I wanted to make something special so I chose a building block card.  My papers are white Georgia Pacific card stock, light blue Recollections card stock and the patterned paper I believe is by DCWV.  For the big rattle on the front of the card I used my Cricut New Arrivals cartridge.  The rattle parts were all cut at 3 1/2 inches.  I cut the shadow three times and glued them all together because I wanted it to have a little weight to it.  Then I layered the top using the same papers as the card base.  I added three Queen and Company pearls and a piece of ribbon I had in my stash. I used foam tape on the back to make it pop up off the card front.  For the inside I chose some EK Success dimensional baby stickers.  The letters for Baby Boy were cut from the Plantin School Book Cricut cartridge.  My sentiment was typed and printed out on my computer.

That's my baby shower card.  I think my friend liked it and I hope you did too.

Hugs,
Paula

Another Birthday Card for the Birthday Card Club

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well and had a nice weekend.  Today I want to share a card I made for a Birthday Card Club card exchange.  My sweet friend Lori, Craftinblind on YouTube, is running this club and it has been a lot of fun making the cards. I'm so glad I decided to participate.  Thank you Lori!

For my card today was a bit of a challenge for me.  We each had to tell the other participants some of the things we like, favorite colors etc.  The person I made this card for said she liked red and yellow.  I didn't think that was going to be an easy color combination to pull off.  After several failed attempts to make a card with those two colors, I finally came up with a design I thought looked good.  I hope she'll think so too.

This card measures 5"x7". For my card base and the white banner layers I used Georgia Pacific white cardstock.  For the yellow layer and the yellow banner layers
I used Colorbok cardstock.  The red and yellow patterned paper is from Graphic 45.  I cut the banner shapes using Sizzix Framelits Banner dies.  The yellow dots on the corners of the banners are Stampin' Up Candy Dots.  The Bakers Twine and Chalk Board Tag are from the Dollar Bins at Target.  The flower and red brad were things I had in my stash.  The chalk board tag was stamped using Close to My Heart White Ink and a Close to My Heart Stamp.  I didn't take a picture of the inside of my card and I had written it out by the time I realized it.  Inside I just repeated the layers the same way I did on the front of the card, plus I added a white mat to write my sentiment on.

Well that's my card for today.  I hope the recipient likes it.  Let me know what you think.

Hugs,
Paula

Happy Birthday Card

Good Morning!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  Here in New York we were expecting to have another huge storm, but it doesn't seem like it is going to be as bad as they predicted.  Fingers crossed!

Today I'd like to share a Birthday Card I made for a Card Group I belong to.

My card is a 5" x 7" card.  I used Recollections brown card stock for my base and rounded the corners.  My next layer is  Recollections patterned paper.  I thought the yellow was so cheery.    Then I used a Lifestyle Crafts die in three different sizes for a base to put the sentiment banner on.  For my sentiment banner I used the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and the coordinating Close To My Heart Stamp as well as Close To My Heart ink.  For embellishment, I added some beautiful brown Offray satin ribbon and four brown pearls from my stash.

Now for the inside of the card.

I stamped the inside sentiment using another Close To My Heart stamp set and the same CTMH brown ink as I used on the front.  I thought the sentiment and those darling little chocolates were perfect for my card.

That's all for today.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to have another card to share real soon.

Hugs,
Paula
