Birthday Boy!

On Easter Sunday my furbaby Jackson turned 9 years old.  To celebrate his big day I made him a party hat.  (My husband is a NASCAR fan so I decided to make Jackson a checkered flag hat and use my husband's favorite driver's colors for the pom poms.)  I couldn't find any checkered flag paper in my local craft stores, so I cut strips of black and white card stock and did a basket weave pattern like they taught us in grade school!  It worked and my Jackson had a custom party hat, which he couldn't wait to take off! LOL!

What an Honor!!!

Baby Shower Centerpiece

We are having a baby shower for one of the women I work with and I was asked to help with the decorations.  So, using different techniques and tips I've learned from visiting so many wonderful blogs and websites, I decided to try to design a baby carriage.  It will be the centerpiece on the table and I'm going to fill it with individually wrapped, decorated cookies that the guests can take after the shower.  (Since it is an office party there won't be that many guests so I'm sure there will be plenty of room for all the cookies.)  The patterned paper I used was from Basic Grey, the white and brown card stock was from my stash, the lace is a promotional item from AC Moore and the ribbon is from Michaels (the kind that is usually 2 or 3 spools for a dollar).  Underneath is a block of styrofoam to keep it from rolling.

I'd love to hear what you think about my project.  Leave me a comment and give me your views.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Paula
